Davao City declares Ramon Bautista as Persona non Grata

DAVAO -- Comedian Ramon Bautista is no longer welcome in Davao City after the City Council declared him persona non grata on Tuesday.
Persona non grata is a Latin word that literally means "an unwelcome person." In the legal sense, a person so declared is no longer welcome in a country or specific place and "is usually forced to return to his or her native country/place."
In a radio interview on Tuesday, Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte said that as an unwelcome person, Bautista can be arrested by authorities if spotted in Davao City.
Bautista, who was in Davao over the weekend as endorser of ayosdito.com, was castigated after he made a joke describing women of the city as "hipon."
In a two-page resolution, the City Council of Davao described "hipon" as "a street slang for a woman with an ugly face and a sexy body and is usually used to refer to women who are ugly and/or stupid and you only want to be intimate with them because they have sexy bodies."
